MLS COMMITTEE: (3-Year Term of Office)
Submits all revisions to the UCAR Board of Directors for approval: MLS rules and regulations, MLS policy statements, standards forms approved by the association MLS.  Interacts and consults with MLS vendor supervisory personnel. Enforces MLS rules and regulations.

Develops and supervises implementation of MLS administrative office procedures and policies.  Conducts training sessions for participants and subscribers on how to correctly use the MLS services.  UCAR Bylaws requires a presidential appointed committee of five members to serve three-year terms.  President attends some or all of these meetings and reports to the Board of Directors any upcoming changes or foreseeable problems or solutions.

GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE (3-Year Term)
Receives ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine if, taken as true on their face, a hearing is to be warranted.  Makes only such preliminary evaluation as is necessary to make these decisions.  Committee does not hold hearings and does not decide whether members have violated the Code of Ethics.  President appoints five members for staggered three-year terms with the chairman selected annually by this committee.  The Chairman then appoints a Vice-Chair.  This committee works with the Eastern Middle Tennessee Association’s Grievance Committee per the Multi Board Professional Standards Agreement.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE; (3-Year Term)
This committee enforces the Code of Ethics.  Dependent on the complaint or request received, a Hearing Panel is appointed for each case.  This Panel hears the matter, makes findings of fact, and renders a decision, recommending appropriate penalty if violation of the Code is determined.  The penalty or sanction must be accepted and confirmed by the Board of Directors.  The hearing panel renders peer judgments based on the merits of all ascertainable facts.  President appoints five members for staggered three-year terms.  This committee works with the Eastern Middle Tennessee Association’s Professional Standards Committee according to the Mulit-Board Professional Standards Agreement.  The President appoints the Committee Chairman.  The Chairman appoints a Vice Chairman.

EDUCATION & MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE:
Promotes awareness of the education needed for real estate sales.  Plans local educational programs with quality instructors.  Supports and promotes state GRI programs and other educational programs sponsored by neighboring boards.  It also encourages qualified persons to attain membership status.  Promotes recognition of outstanding members.  Encourages greater membership participation.  Promotes proper use of the REALTOR® service marks.  Assists and educates members and the public in the proper use of the service marks.  This committee plans new member orientation programs.

TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE:
Committee members are responsible for staying informed about all technology as it applies to the real estate business.  Advises Association staff in system maintenance, recommends to the Board of Directors new hardware or software or other opportunities to electronically make the Association better serve the needs of members.  Guides the Association staff in accomplishing the goal of using electronics to better serve the Association members.

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT COMMITTEE:
Members are responsible for generating ideas and planning special association-related functions. For example, the golf outing, homebuyers and sellers seminars, WCTE-TV Auction volunteers, Habitat for Humanity, American Home Week (that promotes public observance of the constitutional right to own real property), etc. They also review and recommend to the Board of Directors all requests for participation or donations.  The primary basis for recommended approval being the relevance to real estate and this Association.

FINANCE COMMITTEE:
Develops annual budget, with substantial assistance and direction of elected leadership.  Recommends association finances that will adequately support a well rounded program of activities for members.  Current Treasurer serves as chairperson of this committee.  Past Treasurer serves as a committee member.

AWARDS COMMITTEE:
Committee reviews the Awards Program guidelines and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors for any changes.  Oversees presentation of the Awards of Excellence, Realtor® of the Year and Horizon Award.  Applications are reviewed per the rules and application procedures.  The President shall appoint a committee consisting of the President-Elect as Chairman, one local Board of Directors(officer or director, and three Realtor® members minimum).

NOMINATING COMMITTEE:
This committee makes nominations for officers and directors for the upcoming year according to the UCAR Bylaws.  Applicants for Association Officer, Director and for Tennessee Association of Realtors® Director are interviewed by this committee.  The chairman conducts the election of the new officers at the annual meeting.  The committee consists of the Immediate Past President, two(2) other Past Presidents and two Realtor® members.  The immediate Past President serves as committee chairman.

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE:
This committee educates members on legislative activity to increase political awareness and serve local, state and national governments through analysis and suggested action on important legislation.  This committee uses RPAC materials, information, and technical assistance provided by the National Association for use in local and state RPAC fund-raising drives.  ALSO, Encourages REALTOR® members to promote Equal Opportunity in Housing and Employment, programs wherein REALTORS® pledge to offer equal professional service and opportunity to all people without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or country of national origin. Keeps up to date with any changes on a state and national level to ensure that the UCAR complies with the same.  This committee educates members on all such matters.
